Could Salah miss out on huge Saudi payday?
Saudi Arabia is preparing to scale back its investment in the transfer market - which could have repercussions for Mohamed Salah, says Your Site News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
There are reports Saudi Arabia is preparing to withdraw funding for LIV Golf as part of a reassessment of their investments amid the conflicts in the Middle East.
Salah - who is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season - has long been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but any transfer may not be as lucrative as it could have been for the forward.
"There have already been some changes to the way they invest in football," said Solhekol. "When they first put money into the Saudi Pro League, there was a massive splurge on players. Cristiano Ronaldo is there earning astronomical sums of money.
"There has been a pull back and there will continue to be a pull back. What does that mean for somebody like Mohamed Salah?
"There's still a big appetite from the Saudi Pro League to sign Salah this summer - but perhaps he wouldn't be earning as much as if he had moved to Saudi a few years ago.
"There's a war going on in the Middle East and economies all around the world have been affected, especially those in the Gulf.
"Saudi Arabia is saying: 'We're going to continue investing in sport but we're going to be very sensible'."

Manchester City are closely monitoring Feyenoords Givairo Read ahead of a possible move in the summer.
Although City are not assured to sign a new right-back before next season, the position has been under consideration to strengthen for some time.
The performances of Matheus Nunes, signed originally as a midfielder, at right-back have been the main factor deterring City from signing someone in the last 12 to 18 months.
This is despite having a very close look at deals for the likes of Tino Livramento at Newcastle and Wesley before he signed for Roma.
Read, 19, is currently injured but expected to return in the next few weeks and City will be keeping a close eye on his performances during the rest of the campaign.
The Netherlands U21 has been excelling in the Eredivisie and has a number of clubs watching him including Bayern Munich in Germany and others further down the Premier League.

Jean-Philippe Matetas long-term future at Crystal Palace is unclear despite his goalscoring return.
Mateta saw a move to AC Milan collapse on Deadline Day in February after his medical highlighted problems with his knee.
The Frenchman made his return to action last month and started for the first time since the failed move in the Conference League quarter-final first leg against Fiorentina last week, scoring twice.
Mateta who turns 29 in June is targeting a spot in the France squad for this summers World Cup. The striker made his international debut in October and three goals in two matches and an unfortunate injury suffered by Hugo Ekiteke may have boosted his chances of being involved in Didier Deschamps plans.
Mateta is out of contract at the end of next season. There are not believed to be any current plans for the club hierarchy to re-enter contract negotiations after Mateta previously turned down a new offer.
Despite the risk of Mateta leaving as a free agent next summer, there is no guarantee the French international will be sold this summer.
Any potential departure would be dictated by the club receiving suitable offers for a forward who has scored 59 times since joining the club initially on-loan in 2021.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner admitted that he was in the dark about Matetas future when speaking to Your Site News in an interview which will be broadcast ahead of the upcoming Monday Night Football.
I dont know, I dont have the answer. As you say, in football things change so quickly it looks like even quicker and quicker. Maybe he signs a long-term contract in the summer, I dont know.
"I hope for him that he will make the World Cup with France, he will get back to full fitness. I think he is on track. Hes not 100% but getting closer and closer. And then, I dont know what will happen in the summer."
Quansah: Leaving Liverpool was a no-brainer
Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarrell Quansah says leaving Liverpool was a "no-brainer".
The 23-year-old joined the Bundesliga side last summer in a 35m deal after coming through the Reds' academy and playing 58 times for the first team.
Quansah signed a five-year contract at Leverkusen in search of more minutes and has made 38 appearances this season.
"It was the management and the way they approached me because they had a very clear plan of what theyd been watching and everything they saw from me," he told Your Site News about his move.
"They had so much detail in terms of what theyd seen of me, the potential they thought I could live up to and it matched up to what I was thinking as well. Seeing as we were on the same page in that sense, it was a no-brainer.
"To be honest, I wouldnt say it was the hardest decision because I just wanted to play. I felt like I could play at the top level, the Bundesligas a top league and being able to play in the Champions League and play top games, like the semi-final [DFB Pokal] next Wednesday against Bayern, its a massive, massive game."
Slot: Liverpool need to sell before buying
Arne Slot says Liverpool will need to raise funds through sales before they can make any new signings this summer.
Liverpool spent a record 446.5m on new recruits last summer but a difficult campaign has led to calls for more reinforcements.
The club are losing Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson on free transfers at the end of the campaign. Having also lost Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free last summer, Slot says the club now needs to sell before they can buy.
"We are losing Mo and Andy Robertson on a free transfer, as we lost Trent on a free transfer, and this model of the club means that we have to sell, usually, to buy," he told Amazon Prime after the Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain.
"Its a big challenge. It was already last season and its going to be a challenge in the summer again. But this club has also showed many times that this model works and we can be very successful with this model.
"We have signed very good and talented players. Lets hope they all fit, and most of them go into their second season in the Premier League. As I said many times, the future looks very good, especially if we can add a few good signings after good players leave this summer."

'Bournemouth considering Lampard as Iraola replacement'
Bournemouth are considering Frank Lampard as a potential contender to take over once Andoni Iraola leaves the club in the summer, according to The i Paper.
Lampard, 47, is currently in charge at Coventry, who sit top of the Sky Bet Championship, 10 points clear with four games to play.
The i note Lampard has family connections to the club, with uncle Harry Redknapp having been manager and cousin Jamie still close to many figures at the club.
He has also previously managed Derby, Chelsea and Everton.
McKenna and Rose on list of Bournemouth managerial targets

"He is someone who we understand is on a shortlist of three potential candidates. There are two favoured candidates from the Bournemouth hierarchy. You have also seen that Kieran McKenna is on that list of three.
"My information is that Bournemouth want to get that position sorted to start planning for next season now they know Andoni Iraola is not going to be there."
'Villa eye Trafford as Martinez successor'
Aston Villa are monitoring Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.
Villa will reportedly consider offers for Emiliano Martinez, who came close to leaving the club last summer.
Your Site News reported the Argentina international was a target for Manchester United but they chose to sign Senne Lammens instead.
City signed Trafford in a deal worth up to 31m before going on to also complete a deal for Gianluigi Donnarumma in the same window.
As a result, Trafford has been limited to just 14 appearances across all competitions but did make his England debut in the most recent international break.
